Paddle 4 Cancer September 1, Oaks Park in Portlandia!

The 2012 SUP / Paddle 4 Cancer will take place September 1 at Oaks Park in Portland, Oregon. Set in the heart of the city on the Willamette River, with stunning Mt. Hood as the backdrop, the 2012 Paddle 4 Cancer event is the first large-scale all paddle event in Portland. SUP, Prone, OC… all welcome!

Funds raised at Paddle 4 Cancer will benefit Athletes for Cancer’s Survivorship Program. Individuals can fundraise for the event and the cause and are not required to race or participate in actual event-day activities. This event is open to ALL levels of paddlers.  Anyone can DONATE NOW. Where the funds go.

Register for Events:

All athletes must register here to participate. Registration will be available the day of the event, but the registration fees will increase by $10 Thursday, August 30.

  • Individual Races: Beginner (1 mile), Short (3.5 miles), and Distance (About 7.5 miles) open to all paddling vessels — SUP, Prone, Kayak, OC 1
  • 4-Person Team Relay – Casual, but fun, fast-paced and very exciting!
  • Full Contact SUP Contest – One of the most fun & unique activities you’ll ever do on water!

$55 — Entry into 2 SUP Events, Event jersey, lunch, & Athletes for Cancer Limited Edition Dakine Element Backpack
$75 — Entry into 3 SUP Events, Event jersey, lunch, & Athletes for Cancer Limited Edition Dakine Element Backpack
$75 Event Supporter: Want to support the event, take home some cool swag, but not race or get on the water? An Event Supporter receives the Event Jersey & Athletes for Cancer Dakine Backpack.

Where is Oaks Park?

Oaks Park is a private amusement park on the east side of the Willamette River, between the Ross Island and Sellwood Bridges. Here is a map of it’s location within Portland. Once you get on Oaks Park Drive, here is a map to the event site.

Fundraise & Send someone to camp!

You can also fundraise prior to Paddle for Cancer to help raise money for Athletes for Cancer’s Koru Survivorship Program and send someone deeply impacted by cancer to camp.
